“No alarm clock hits harder than a dog who has decided it is time to wake you up.”
Meet Alexandra
From Doodles To Degrees
One of our own Broward Bark subscribers, Alexandra, is known around her neighborhood as the woman who runs the "Doodle Fun House" - a nickname she earned from dog sitting and training neighbors' pups on the side.
But Alexandra also has a serious professional side. As a former 🏫 college admissions officer, she now runs University Compass - a personalized college consulting service helping students build the strongest application possible, starting as early as 9th grade.
She guides students through everything - course selection, extracurriculars, SAT/ACT prep, essay writing, FAFSA, scholarships, and even waitlist situations. By 🎓 senior year, her students are organized, prepared, and confident - with someone in their corner who has actually sat on the other side of the admissions desk.
⭐️ Give your student the edge - visit University Compass.

Too Much Licking?
Every dog licks their paws now and then. But if your dog is going at it nonstop, something is usually up. The most common culprits are allergies and yeast infections.
With yeast, you will usually notice a funky smell along with redness between the toes. Try wiping their paws after walks. You can also spritz them with a 50/50 mix of water and apple cider vinegar - it fights yeast and bacteria naturally. Just skip it if the skin is cracked or raw.
If the licking does not let up after a few days, your vet can get to the bottom of it fast.

411 South Bar & Grill
I checked out 411 South Bar & Grill for the first time after the Fur The Love Pet Fest ❤️ on Feb 22, 2026. It was an easy walk from Las Olas Oceanside Park, which made it the perfect spot to wind down after the event.
The food was delish and the service was great. The menu offers a strong mix of fresh seafood, steaks, burgers, salads, and craft cocktails, so you have plenty of options whether you want something light or a full meal. The ocean 🏖️ views along A1A are tough to beat, and the music added to the vibe.
The large outdoor patio is 🐕 dog-friendly, which made the experience even better after a full day with pups. Great weather, great atmosphere, and a great way to cap off the event. I will be back.

Take Me Home!
Change A Life Today
Meet Miley, the "Wiggle Queen" who has spent nearly 1,000 days waiting for her forever home.
Despite the long wait, her spirit is unbreakable - one look at her and you're met with full-body wiggles and a tail 🐕 that never stops.
Miley is a joyful, high-energy soul who lives for zoomies ⚡️ and human affection. She's looking for an active home with no small kids where she can be your one-and-only superstar (no other pets, please!). She'll need a secure, fenced yard to burn off her happy energy and a best friend who appreciates a goofy, powerful dog with a heart ❤️ of gold.
To ensure a smooth transition, Miley's adoption includes two sponsored training sessions.
After nearly three years of waiting and hoping, Miley still believes her person is coming. Could it be you?

Interesting Dog Fact 🤔
A Dog's Mouth Is Not Cleaner Than Yours
You have heard it a million times - "A dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's." Sorry to bust the myth. Dogs carry around 600 types of bacteria in their mouths - just different from what we carry in ours.
Think about it. Your dog licks the floor, eats mystery objects on walks, and has no problem greeting another dog's rear end. Clean is not the word.
The good news? Most of that bacteria is species-specific, meaning it is harmless to humans. So the kisses are still safe - just not sterile.

No dog with me at the Dog-Opoly event, so I borrowed a sweet pup for the photo and pretended I planned it that way. 😀 Thanks to the kind dog mom who saved the shot.
