Too Many Treats Is A Real Problem
Most dog parents have no idea they are overdoing it. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog's daily calories - that number adds up faster than you think.
A few training rewards, a couple of snacks, and a chew here and there can quietly push your pup into a calorie surplus every single day. Over time that leads to weight gain, joint stress, and a dog who starts skipping the bowl altogether.
If your pup is turning their nose 🐽 up at meals, check the treat jar first.

The 6th Annual Fur The Love Pet Fest is taking over Las Olas Oceanside Park for a full morning of vendors, food, drinks, and four-legged fun right by the beach. This year's theme is DOG-OPOLY - a walkable, game-inspired experience where you and your pup roam vendor "properties" like a real-life 🎲 board game.
Free admission, good vibes, and a whole lot of wagging tails. Do not miss this one.

The Walk 2026
For A Good Cause
Grab your sneakers 👟 and your pup, and head out for a morning that gives back. The VCA Walk for the Animals returns!
This annual waterfront walk supports the 🐶 Humane Society of Broward County and helps fund food, shelter, medical care, and second chances for pets waiting for homes.
Check-in starts at 7:30am and the walk begins at 9am. Expect sponsor booths, pet-friendly activities, and plenty of ways to learn about adoption, fostering, and volunteering while you stroll for a cause that helps local animals thrive.

Everglades Angels Dog Rescue marks 12 years of rescue with a family-friendly outdoor afternoon at Tradewinds Park. A $20 donation includes food and drinks as the community gathers to celebrate the mission and the dogs at the heart of it all.

The 41st Annual SOMI Art Fest 🎨 takes over the heart of downtown South Miami this weekend - right next to the Shops at Sunset Place - and your pup is invited. Over 120 artists from across the country, live music 🎵 on two stages, local food, a beer garden, and vendors that actually cater to 🐾 dog parents.
Speaking of which - look out for some familiar faces in the crowd. Equipaws Pets Miami, Happy With Dogs, Paw Patrol Animal Rescue and plenty more dog-friendly vendors will be set up and ready to meet you and your pup.
Admission is free, parking is easy, and the whole thing is dog-friendly from start to finish. This one is worth the 🚘 drive.

👋 This one came in on our Facebook page and it says everything. Meet Max - and according to his mom Debbie, when it is walk time, she gets the stink eye, the WTF look, and it does not matter what you do or say. He is not moving. Full stop.
