3 Interesting Facts About Dogs

1) Jaws of Steel - A dog's 🦈 jaws are its most powerful weapon. While most predators rely on claws, dogs can exert nearly 200 pounds of pressure per square inch with their jaws - far more than a human ever could.

2) Dog's Ears - A dog's ears have twice as many muscles as human ears 👂. Their ability to move and control their ears is comparable to our ability to swivel and bend our necks.

3) Seeing At Night - There are a few myths about dogs' vision. They can see in color, but to a very limited degree. Additionally, they have better night vision 🌜 than we do because of special reflective layers in their eyes.

My Family Didn't Want Me!

Hi, I'm Jasper! 🐕 I was adopted and returned after 2 months because my adopter didn't want the responsibility (boneheads). My previous family moved and couldn’t take me, so now I’m back at the shelter looking for a new home.

I'm super playful, love dog parks 🛝, and sometimes I howl (so a house without close neighbors is best). I'm potty-trained, great with kids 👶, but I prefer a home without cats since I like to chase them. I can be selective with other dogs, so a meet and greet is needed. I need frequent brushing 🪮 to look my best. Ready for fun and love? Adopt me!

Movies By Moonlight
Movie Night With Fido!

Join the fun on Friday, August 9th, at Fort Lauderdale Beach. Activities begin at 5:00 PM, with the movie 🎞️ starting at sunset. Admission is free. Grab a blanket or chair (a limited number of chairs can be borrowed) and bring 🐕 Fido to watch a movie on the lawn. Dog owners are asked to bring waste bags to clean up after 💩 Fido and keep him on a leash for the entire event.

Before the film starts, explore specialty vendors, pet-friendly activities, and sponsor booths. Feel free to bring your own food for a 🧺 picnic on the turf. Movie snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment with your canine companion!

Dog Days Of Summer

While this event is not in Broward County, it's just a hop and skip away and is certainly bark-worthy! Beat the ☀️ heat and take your pup for an indoor walk at Aventura Mall!

Bring your dog and join for a fun indoor walk-through Aventura Mall on Saturday, August 24, at 10 a.m. Meet on the Upper Level near Tesla.

The first 50 guests will receive a gift bag 🎁 upon arrival. Parking is available in the parking garage adjacent to the Aventura Slide Tower and in the parking lot across from Apple. After the walk, if you’re feeling 🍔 hungry, check out one of the dog-friendly restaurants with patio seating and water bowls for your pup!

While Aventura Mall is a pup-approved destination please check with the individual shops, restaurants and eateries regarding for their in-store dog policy.
