When Love Has Four Legs

Ever noticed how your dog leans into you when you’re feeling down? It’s not just a coincidence. Dogs are incredibly in tune with our 😢 emotions. When they see us crying or upset, they pick up on our body language, tone, and even scent changes.

That lean, paw, or gentle nudge is their way of offering 🥰 comfort. It’s their version of a hug, saying, “I’m here, and you’re not alone.” Many dogs feel uneasy when their humans are sad, so they seek closeness to help both of you feel better.

Over time, they may even learn that offering comfort brings a calming response from you - making that sweet, supportive gesture even more intentional. Just another reason dogs are the best kind of 🐕 therapy.

As the school year winds down, another exciting volunteer season is kicking off at Margate Animal Center! 🐾 If you need community service hours for 🚸 high school - or just have a passion for animals, this is a great opportunity to get involved. Volunteers help support rescue animals and promote the well-being of pets and the people who love them.

Just fill out the Google Form and allow 48–72 hours for a response.

The countdown is on! This Saturday, swing by Barkland Dog Park for the Homes Fur Dogs Expo - and come say hi 👋 to Dave and the Broward Bark family! 🐾 We’ll be at our 🎪 tent handing out freebies, chatting with local dog parents, and happily accepting all the slobbery dog kisses 😘 that come our way.

Expect a fun day packed with local pet vendors, a live DJ, fun contests, caricature drawings 🎨, and adoptable dogs looking for forever homes. Whether you’re shopping for your pup or just out for some four-legged fun, this is one event you don’t want to miss!

She was rescued after being abandoned in an apartment, locked in a crate with barely any food or water. But those dark days are behind her. Bingo has blossomed into a playful, affectionate girl who loves food, cuddles, and going on outings. She’s house trained, knows her basic commands, and is ready to trade the shelter life for a forever home filled with 🥰 love.
