Helping Aging Dogs Stay Sharp
Just like people, senior dogs can experience age-related changes in their brain. It is called Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, and it can make older pups seem confused, restless at night, forgetful, or less like themselves.
While no snack can fully prevent it, blueberries in small amounts are rich in antioxidants and are often considered a brain-supporting food for aging dogs. Early vet care, routine, enrichment, and brain games can also help senior pups stay more comfortable.

Fireworks Tips
Get Them Ready For The Booms
Desensitizing your dog to fireworks 🧨 sounds can make July 4th less stressful for both of you. Start by playing the sounds at a low volume during your dog’s rest, playtime, or mealtime. Gradually increase the volume every 10 to 15 minutes as your dog adjusts.

For a more realistic experience, try using a stereo sound system with 🔊 bass speakers to simulate vibrations. Pay attention to your dog’s reactions. If they seem uncomfortable, lower the volume and take it slow.
This process may take a few days, so be patient. Every dog 🐕 is different, so it is important to go at your dog's pace.
In addition to sounds, create a safe, quiet space where your dog can feel secure. Calming aids like anxiety wraps or natural supplements may help too. Keep them busy with 🧸 toys or simple obedience commands to shift their focus. Stay calm and offer plenty of praise when your dog handles the noise well.
