Pumpkin Perks For Your Pup
Adding a bit of pumpkin to your dog's diet can offer some great health benefits. Pumpkin is rich in fiber, which can help regulate your dog's digestive system, making it a great remedy for both 💩 diarrhea and constipation. It's also packed with essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium, which support overall health and immunity.
Just a spoonful mixed into your dog's regular food can make a noticeable difference. Make sure to use plain, canned pumpkin and avoid ⚠️ any pumpkin pie filling that contains sugars and spices.

Dog Got Eye Boogers?
Could it be conjunctivitis? You know, that gooey, sticky stuff? Conjunctivitis, or "pink eye," is common in dogs and involves redness and inflammation of the tissue covering the inner eyelids and the 👁️ white part of the eye. It's often caused by 🦠 bacterial infections or allergies and can affect one or both eyes. Symptoms include eye discharge, pink or red eyes, pawing at the face, excessive blinking or squinting, and swollen eyelids.
You can ease symptoms at home by 💦 flushing the eye with sterile saline 2-4 times daily and cleaning any discharge with a saline-soaked cotton pad. Using a head cone can prevent scratching. Never use human medications on your dog without consulting a vet.
Call a vet 🥼 if your dog shows persistent squinting, eye pain, signs of illness, or if there's no improvement despite treatment. Untreated conjunctivitis can worsen, so timely veterinary care is crucial.

Barking At The Bowl
I (dave@browardbark) recently started transitioning my two dogs from Science Diet to Open Farm dog food, and we're on day 3 of the switch. They've been a bit picky with the new food (dinner drama!), but I'm 🙏 hopeful they'll adjust soon. I switched to Open Farm because it's highly rated for its quality and ethical sourcing.
I usually toss in some 🫐 blueberries and 🥕 carrots with their food, and sometimes for an extra treat, I'll add some boiled chicken.
My dogs are quite the backyard athletes, and when they're not out there, they're playing tag in the house and turning it into a 🧨 demolition zone! They definitely need those extra calories!
